Website requests

The hosting service processes connection data needed to serve the site, including IP address, time, requested file, browser information and status messages. Delivery and security rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Logs are deleted when no longer needed for operations or security; a specific security incident may require longer retention for investigation.

Contact enquiries

When you contact us by email or phone, we process your information to handle the enquiry and follow up. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) for communication. Data are deleted after completion unless statutory retention duties or continuing legitimate purposes require otherwise.

Tools and preferences

The opening animation and its controls run locally in your browser. We do not record these interactions. Language and partner selections are not stored as user profiles. Habitat and Habitat-Lab process your entries only in browser memory; reloading discards them. JSON exports are saved on your device and are not sent to us. This website provides no registration, file uploads or automated decisions about individuals.

Local preferences

When you select Light or Dark, the website saves this value as “alika-theme” in your browser's localStorage and reads it on later visits. It remains until you change it or delete the site's data. Storage serves the display setting you expressly requested (§ 25(2)(2) TDDDG); insofar as personal data is involved, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR to provide this preference. Without a selection, the system setting applies. We use no cookies, tracking, analytics services or external fonts.

Links to IfWf at wohnforschung.org and to reference sources are ordinary links. Your browser connects to the respective provider only when you open them. The “noreferrer” setting prevents these links from sending this website's referring address. The destination's privacy notice applies there. Email links open your email application; data is transmitted only when you send a message.

Recipients and retention

Web and email service providers receive data as needed for their tasks, where applicable under a processing agreement. Further disclosure requires a legal basis. No third-country transfer through embedded website services is intended. You can remove local preferences by clearing this site’s browser data.

Providing information

Connection data is necessary to deliver the website. Information in a contact enquiry is voluntary; without contact details or sufficient information we cannot respond. Please describe demo and cooperation enquiries without identifiable health information about other people.

Your rights

Subject to GDPR conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. You may withdraw consent for the future.
